YOU CAN HELP RESTORE THE ENNIS-BROWN HOUSE!
 We are
extremely pleased to announce the Ennis-Brown House Seismic
Restoration has been designated by the National Trust for Historic
Preservation as an Official Project of Save America's Treasures.
Save America's Treasures is a White House Millennium Council
initiative created by President and Mrs. Clinton as part of the
National Millennium Commemoration. It is a national effort focused
on "protecting America's threatened cultural treasures...,
including significant documents, works of art, maps., journals and
historic structures that document and illuminate the history and
culture of the United States." Save America's Treasures works
to recognize and rescue the enduring symbols of American tradition
that define us as a nation.
After five
lengthy years of negotiation, since the Northridge earthquake,
TPCH has settled with FEMA on the funding amount that the
Ennis-Brown House will receive for the seismic repairs.
Approximately $2.5 million will be funded by FEMA, leaving
approximately $1 million to be raised by contributions to the
Trust to cover the repair project.
Individual
and corporate sponsorship is needed to raise the additional $1 million for the
seismic repairs. All contributions to the Trust for Preservation
of Cultural Heritage are tax deductible
in accordance with IRS regulations.
